I was curious how unlimited Unlimited really meant? I have four roommates and in 20 days we have managed to put on 2200 minutes on our account. We are not using it for business use, and our call patern would clearly indicate we are not using it for commercial purpose.
I was just curious if there is a certain threshold that vonage makrs and contacts you to upgrade plans (much like dialup in the 90's was)
Thanks

We're averaging about 3000 minutes a month for almost a year now with no billing "hiccups". |

I believe there is an excessive use clause in the terms of service but alas I cannot find the TOS anymore. I think you can get to it if you pretend to sign up.
I think 20000 minutes would be considered excessive since that's like talking on the phone for 10 hours a day every day. Your ISP would probably throttle the bandwidth by then |

So it seems that the magic number is around 3000, just anxious to see what happens around 3500 - 3750 minutes.. I believe that is where I will end up. |

I believe Vonage might ask you to move up to the business plan if all of those minutes are used Monday - Friday, 9-5.
If your call pattern is all days and times, than you have nothing to worry about. |

Just to let you know. Packet8 automatically "upgrades" you to pay more to their busniess account if you go over 2000 minutes. I highly do not recommend. Vonage seems to check activity after a few months, but i told them that i use it for personal use..yet i dial alot of numbers and go about 5000 minutes. So they said at 5000 theres nothing to worry about. So there should not be any problem with vonage. they seem to be okay. i just cant threeway with them due to 128k upload. they need codec supporting to switch codecs (advance voip options) |
