Got it installed today - blistering fast speeds - want to shut my comcast account down tomorrow - can I put the Vonage box before the router - should disable PPPoE on router, and enable on Vonage - correct? Appreciate any tips from those of you who are up and running.

I just called today to find out if FIOS is available in my area since they installed the fiber about 4 months ago. They put through a dummy order and said it is available at my address Smile Should be ordering FIOS soon since the install/first month is free and test it out Smile

Well I called today just to double check and verified that the fiber is finally lit in front of my house and FIOS is available in my area. Was considering the 5MB/2MB plan for 39.95 a month. My current cable isp is 5MB/384K for 39.95 a month. The extra upstream I beleive would improve voice quality. I currently have Vonage working flawlessly and am sorta afraid to change ISP do to the fact my voice quality may go way down. Anyone had any call quality problems with verizon FIOS?

Been using FIOS for over 4 months now....very very satisfactory service!
I have 5/2 service. I almost always get 4.8 - 5 on dslreports, but upstream is usually about 1.5 (instead of the 2 that they advertize). The funny thing is that the first 2 days after they installed it, I was getting upstream of about 3.5, which quickly went down to 1.5. Not that I am complaining, because it is still muuuuuuuuuch faster than the 256 that I was getting from Comcast, for about 20 bucks lessers too!

I have a D-Link router connected to the FIOS line, and the ATA (one of the original Moto boxes handed out by Vonage) connected to one port of the router. I have my PC connected to the second port of the router.

Sounds good. The first month is free anyway so I suppose I can give it 15 days or so and if everything is good keep it. If not cancel the service. Thanks.

I have this feeling that once you have it, you will never go back.

Everything I have heard about it on this site and others is that it, well, that it JUST ROCKS!
