Curious how long others have waited for SBC number portability. My letter was transferred to SBC on Jan 16th. I had a tentative switchover date of Feb 15th, which I found out yesterday was not going to happen and was pushed back to a date I was not given.

How long have others waited?

Today I completed 20 business days of waiting for my LNP from SBC. So far no mail or any update from Vonage.

Today I tried to call the Vonage LNP dept. but the phone just rang for awhile later the automatic message came up saying 'try the call later' Eek

After several calls and one e-mail, my number has yet to be ported. When speaking with Vonage LNP, they had an initial date of February 15th at 10AM for my transfer to begin. A call on Friday revealed this never occurred and no new date was given.

I was told to call back today for updated information. I'm growing a bit tired of having to call repeatedly for something that should be automated and extremely easy to accomplish.

Besides calling, what other approach should I be taking?

I laugh at your 20 business days. I'm up to 32 business days, no update since I called last week to open yet another ticket. This company is not going to last if it continues to lie/not-communicate with its customers. I'm befuddled as to why it only took Time Warner 10 working days. I work in tech support myself, some of it requires telco interaction. From what I can surmise, Vonage either does not / has not set up a good liasion with SBC.
They keep giving us the runaround with "the LOA has been submitted..." Like SBC is going to just do it without some direct prodding. I just sent a PM to ssantana and in it, I told him to warn the LNP department that if I did not hear from them with an acceptable update, I would start cc'ing the CEO on any further emails. Hopefully, that will clue them in that this stuff is kind of important, especially considering that it is their business...

I have SBC in Indiana. I am currently on 21 business days. I will wait a few more days until I start calling Vonage LNP number.

A friend of mine -- also an Indiana SBC user -- tried to transfer 2 numbers in November. One took about 2 months, and the other has yet to transfer.

What is up with SBC? Very disappointing.

Been waiting since Jan. 11. I wish I knew who to be mad at, Vonage, SBC or some third party company who's sitting on their a**?

You can take a look at my experience of the past couple of days with SBC and Vonage in Pasadena at this link.

Good news...I think. I've been given a new date of March 3rd. It took several calls and a threat to call my state's attorney general's office. Now I'll play the waiting game and see if it happens on the 3rd.
