Is there or will there be a Auto Attendant feature in the future? Just wondering. |

I just spoke with Customer service. They said it has been requested but nothing more yet. I was shocked that Vonage would not be one of the first to pioneer the Virtual Office features. I guess they dropped the ball on that one. One thing I think I will have to count on is that given the size of Vonage now and the inevitable politics that go along with a big company, we wont be seeing this feature for quite a while. So I guess we will have to use the overpriced GotVmail or something similar until the execs at Vonage decide to get back on top of the game. |

Vonage addressed this by partnering with Epygi CPE for this feature and many other PBX features.. The Epygi/Vonage package is a nice bundle for the SME, SOHO, and teleworker market. There are even programs in place where customers can sign up and receive the Epygi CPE (has auto-attendant) together with the Vonage service for a monthly fee. Much like if you called up your local cable co, and got their digital cable, where they rent you the box and pay monthly for the service. Same type of idea, and it doesn't cause the customer to dish out valuable capital.
It just depends on how many lines you need. This determines the type of box. 2X, 4x, or 16X.
hope this helps

If you're not interested in other solutions, please ignore my post.
But there are many places to get auto-attendant features around.
I've had VERY good experience with GotVmail.com -- I got my vanity toll free number, professional voice prompt recordings, and all the bells and whistles up and going in 24 hours.
You have to pay per minute while you're on an incoming call, but it will keep me happy until some other solution comes out (I'm looking at the Packet8 Virtual Office now). The best part is I can have extensions for other people that ring their cell phone or office phone, while mine ring my Vonage line.
I expect any Vonage solution would be limited to other Vonage lines like most of their features currenlty are (Simulring, etc.). That would be a big disadvantage to me. I enjoy the ability to have my extension ring my cell phone either at specific scheduled hours, or when I know I'm going to be out of the office that day and change the forward number.
And, I'm the owner of record for my vanity toll free number so it can come with me to any other service if GotVMail stops being the best for me.
If you start looking at other companies that offer this from a toll-free line, becareful to watch out for double-leg billing. GotVMail is the same per minute if a caller gets dumped into voicemail or I answer the call and talk to them. Some of the other ones I was looking at charged per minute to get into their switch, and then an additional per minute rate to connect to my phone. |

it out and see what you think. I currently have multiple locations that my people use Vonage service at - i need to be connected as one - the system i have found does NOT offer DID - but overall that is about the worse of it - let me know what you think, before i buy though i will be checking out your found solution. NOTE - Our toll free number was through verizon at about 6.9 cents per minute - the new cost with all of the features will land us at about 50 clams per month more over all with all of the extensions we want - www.ringcentral.com |
