I have two houses which I would prefer to have the same phone number considering I spend equal time at each house. I already am using Vonage at one house and am quite pleased with it. I was wondering if it is possible to get a second ATA box and have it bound to the original number so the phone will ring in both houses. Has anyone tried this before? |

According to my source at Vonage you can't do this. Each phone number must have it's own ATA (or a seperate port on the same ATA).
What you CAN do, though, is sign up for Vonage and add a second number with as second ATA, then you should be able to set your ringing up to ring both ATA's before going to voicemail. |

Any reason you can't just carry the ATA back and forth between the houses? |

Just get a second ata and phone number, set each number to forward to the other and it will just go around in circles, just like when you call SBC! |

You have to pay for two lines, but you can setup a virtual number with BlastMe and that will ring both of the other numbers. This gives you two seperate lines, plus a virtual number tho... Hope this helps.

i know you cant do this on Vonage, but other Voip solutions are able to do this. we have ip phones at my work...we have 1 line but 3 separate phones and extentions...but only one phone can make/receieve calls at a time...but they all ring. |

No reason at all. I do it all the time. |

I would just get a 2nd ATA under the minimum $12/month plan (same account). Then just give people one number and setup a hunt group (or use manual forward).
