Post subject: VDV23 - Max Upstream?
Rather than be long and wordy, I'll get right to the point(s):
- Have had VDV23 for several years. Used with 25/5 Cable internet no problem going Modem->VDV23->Router
- After upgrading internet to 50/25, noticed that upstream through VDV23 is in the 8 mbit range instead of 25. When going Modem->Router, I get the full 25 (in fact more like 30).
- I notice that the QoS screen in the VDV23 is "Auto" detecting my connection as having about 8 up. If I set it to manual, the highest I can set it for is 10.
- VDV23 needs to be inline between modem and router since no matter what I do, there are sound quality issues behind router (even with the VDV23 as the sole DMZ device *and* port forwarding for TCP -> 5060-5070 and TCP -> 10000-25000.) When VDV23 is between modem and router, no sound quality issues.
Any ideas? I checked to see if
Vonage
was offering newer adapters, but looks like it's still stuck with these VDV23. Thanks.
