I do not recall the last time I had any of the symptoms your having I have had missed calls until I either forwarded my ports or put the ata in my DMZ.

The customer/technical support hold time is disturbing. I am not trying to make up for Vonage’s hold’s time’s but with the current worms/viruses on the internet I would not be surprised if the customer/technical support calls have not tripled in volume. I know for my internet-based company that our call volume triples during the recent internet worms/viruses

I am defiantly sticking with Vonage.

Qwest phone bill
Averaged $400-500 a month (I make many long distance calls) and I had two lines one for fax.

My last Vonage bill
International Calls for 1-(xxx)-xxx-xxxx (07/09-08/08) $10.18
Overage Calls for 1-(xxx)-xxx-xxxx (07/09-08/08) $0.00
Unlimited Local/Regional Plus Plan for 1-(xxx)-xxx-xxxx (08/09-09/08) $39.99
Basic Residential FAX Plan for 1-(xxx)-xxx-xxxx (08/09-09/08) $9.99
Virtual Phone Number for 1-(xxx)-xxx-xxxx (08/09-09/08) $4.99
Sales Tax: $0.00
FET Tax: $1.32
Total Amount: $66.47

I figure I have saved about $4,800 in the past year.

I was just about to add a FAX line when this latest rate "reduction" notice came out. I am so glad I didn't! Vonage is really starting to behave like a phone company now.

Could it be they hired some executives from Armstrong & Two Temps?

What Shocked

ATAs have to be returned "in the original carton w/ barcodes" to escape the disconnect fee?

I don't recall reading that part in Vonage's terms of service.

Until just recently EVERYONE had to pay the disconnect fee. Returning the ATA in original packagiung is an improvement over that.

Incidentally, I am still sticking. Smile

(Still waiting for 405 area code, though.)

Dear Friend,

We've lowered our prices!

The coupon for a FREE month of service we previously sent to you is still valid and there's never been a better time to sign up. Our Premium Unlimited Plan has been reduced to only $34.99 per month and the Unlimited Local/Regional Calling Plan has been reduced to only $24.99 per month.

Sign up and see what you've been missing! Your coupon link is below.

That's all nice and fine, but I never received a coupon for a free months service AND no one ever mentioned that the rate was going down.

This appears to be for NEW sales as opposed to existing customers. Thanks for nothing there dude!

Vonage is cheap only if you can use it. if you cannot converse, having a tel# is pointless, even if they give it to you for free (yup, better use yahoo's free audio conference, it's chaeper and provides better quality!)

I have had Vonage a little over a month now and am very happy. No dumped calls, strange sounding voices, or missed calles. The number transfer is taking a little longer that I thought and I am paying 2 phone bills, but Vonage is really going to save me money. Small biz line with fax and metro Houston number with toll free service $119.00/mth base(SBC), Vonage with same service ~$45.00/mth including all LD Razz
