Now that I would be interested in. Is it on the firefox entensions page, I wonder. As a web designer, I'm a confirmed Firefox user, and sick to death of non-standard, CSS blind Internet Explorer.

Well, another useful nugget of info, and a useful utility from this thread in less than an hour. I just located that and installed it into my Firefox.
As a web designer, I really hope Firefox makes even more inroads into the lame non-standard un-compliant Microsoft excuse for a browser.

These Firefox entensions are just so useful.

There are two click2call 's. Most of you are referencing the executable program that Vonage provides, and it is the one that one logs into, uses the F6 key, and integrates with Outlook. The other is a Firefox browser extension that allows one to dial a phone number from a web page. That one is distributed by another member of this forum.

Actually there are three. There's also a URL you can go to to make the call (I assume that's how the FireFox plugin works...):

Being of a suspicious mind, I did a whois on the domain "click2callu.com" and it DOES belong to Vonage. I tried the instructions from my web browser and it works like a champ.

I can think of hundreds of uses for that in a small business environment and imagine if you could expose that internally on a portal system. I guess the only downside is you wouldn't know whom you were calling when Click2Call shows up on your caller ID.

Good clean fun for the imagination.

Click2Call shows up on caller ID as "Click2Call C2C-###########"

Where ########### is the number you are calling.

I have click2call installed and really like it. The only problem is it doesn't work while VPN is enabled. Any work arounds?

Thanks,
Rick

Click2Call works for me when I have a VPN active.

I suspect that your VPN is configured to route all traffic over the VPN and that the system you are connecting to does not allow a connection to https://secure.click2callu.com.

How this is changed is going to depend on the type of VPN, your operating system and your specific configuration. [EDIT: Removed questionable advice.]

Alternatively you could set a specific higher priority static route in your routing tables that sends just click2call traffic out through your unsecured Internet connection.

Send more information about your setup and I will see if I can provide a more specific answer.

Actaully, there are an infinite number of ways. The page listed above give some code examples and links to some more ways to use Click2Call.
