PostPosted: Sun Feb 13, 2005 11:33 am    Post subject: Verizon Customers - How long did it take to transfer your #? Reply with quote Back to top

I currently have Verizon land line. I started Vonage service on 2/22. LOA sent to carrier on 2/24.

Has anyone else had a good or bad experience transferring your old #?

Thanks,
Michelle

Thanks Jockey & Maaz. Looks like about a month & a 1/2. Not too bad of a nightmare.
Now if only I could get my PAP2 adapter to work. I guess I have a couple of weeks to sit on hold w/tech support before my number transfers.

Verizon NoVA member. Just submitted LOA on 2/10, Verizon got it on 2/11. We'll see how this goes from here...

I sent a complaint on Verizon to the FCC, referencing this thread (Form 475 for anyone interested -- its online at www.fcc.gov). The FCC FAQ on LNP (wow, thats a lot of acronyms) states that wireless porting should take a few hours and, while there is no timeframe specified for land line porting, it is reasonable to expect a few days. 6 weeks is out of control. Durandul's experience seems to be the exception rather than the rule.
