Post subject: Transfering from Cox - 80 days and counting
Seems the right hand of
Vonage
doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Finding it impossible to get into Billing to get credits for the past 2 1/2 months, too. Finally found 1 person to take responsibility. Been on phone with
Vonage
literally over 10 hours of hold time & a few conversations.

The problem with Porting is not the fault of
Vonage
. I work for Verizon Wireless and started out in the WLNP department. I know how it works. The nightmare of spending forever trying to port. Now a days, porting your wireless number takes about 10 minutes, unless there is a problem then id say 3-4 days max. Usually information not matching is the problem. Anyhow, im going to put the pressure on Verizon Land Line seeings how I know the rules and regulations governing LNP. I started porting on Feb 10th. Wish me luck....

Updated Date: Number Transfer Progress History:
January 29, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
February 2, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
February 2, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
This is now March 2 - exactly 20 "business" days!!!
I'm holding my breath - after seeing all of the other horror stories in this forum.

I get the award I think. I'm in Suburban Washington, DC (Maryland). My saga is below:
August 25, 2004 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
August 25, 2004 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
August 25, 2004 Transfer Sent to Carrier
March 1, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer
March 2, 2005 Completed LNP Transfer
Yay, only 6 months. LOL. I do have to say though that I really didn't push the issue and probably should have. I just emailed
dslreports@vonage.com
last week and mysteriously the ball rolled pretty quickly.

Verizon NoVA member. Just submitted LOA on 2/10, Verizon got it on 2/11. We'll see how this goes from here...
Update: Called Verizon 3 days ago. They had no record of a transfer request in their system....
I've got a ticket running with
Vonage
right now to have them resend the request. When they do that, I'll call Verizon to make sure they got it.
I only hope I caught this early enough to avoid having a horror story of my own to tell.

I'm in SE Pennsylvania, and my Verizon # was completely switched with no problems in slightly under two weeks.

Yep, still waiting. My 8 month mark is in less than a week. Do I get a prize?
But I'm not a Verizon customer. I'm in Utah, my phone company is Vartec, and my phone number shows Qwest as the carrier (my original phone company).

I've been waiting since 2/11/05. I contacted Verizon yesterday and they claim that they haven't received the transfer request yet from
Vonage
. I sent an email to
Vonage
and I'm waiting for a reply.
