I was just wondering if anyone who was supposed to have their number ported today actually had it go through? As of right now my number has not been ported as promised.

Glad to see that I'm not the only dissapointed one. Can a
Vonage
Rep or someone please explain why TWO promised Verizon transfers set for the same day did not take place? Seriously, what are you guys paying Paetec for? If I were
Vonage
I'd be pretty outraged at Paetec's performance, because clearly they are not getting the job done in a timely manner.

This is what the dashboard says now...
March 15, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
March 19, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
March 19, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
April 25, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer
April 27, 2005 Transfer Date Revised
Transfer Date: April 28, 2005
Now it matches what verizon's site says the due date of the order is.
In any case,
Vonage
gave me a one month credit for the transfer taking so long.

Post subject: phone number transfer request failed 3 times
I signed up for
Vonage
and have been waiting throught 3 attempts by them to complete the process of the number transfers. They keep failing to complete the LSR correctly, even after I have answered all of thier questions. Has anyone had this problem and will it ever get resolved?

April 26, 2005 Completed LNP Transfer
I called a couple of weeks ago to see what was up...
Vonage
didn't know what the hold up was, so they reissued the request and bumped the priority. And they also credited our account for the two lost months. Which was cool...

April 20, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
April 20, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
April 20, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
April 28, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer
We'll see tomorrow.

The actual port occured on the 28th in the early morning hours.
My best advice to people would be to actually call LNP department if your port doesn't seem to be going anywhere. After that you should make periodic calls for updates. Do not depend on e-mails or the status updates on your dashboard. E-mails are rarely answered and dashboard updates may not be accurate.

Post subject: Only 1 Month
Just wanted to tell all that I got great luck on my transfer. Only 1 month it took, I guess I was one of the lucky ones. My transfer was from Verizon. I called 4 days ago asking the status because I was fowarding my number from my Verizon account to the virtual number of
Vonage
, I found that my virtual number wasnt in my calling area and it cost me every time I recieved a call. They made it good and gave me a free month and made things happen very quick after that.

I've been waiting for my number transfer for about two months. I've emailed back and forth with
Vonage
several times but have not been able to find out why the delay is happening or when it may get done. So I've been unable to make use of the
Vonage
service so far. I've also emailed Paetec and filed with the fcc.
There is a consumer advocate column that runs in the Orlando Sentinel newspaper here, that guy will start getting copied on emails soon...
