Post subject: still waiting.....
Boston area:
February 26, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
March 5, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
March 5, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
Supposedly today is the tentative date of transfer, but two of these dates have already come and gone.
Vonage
will receive a nasty call tonight if it is not yet transferred. Although it may be Verizon who is to blame, as a
Vonage
customer it is certainly their responsibility to ensure a transfer is completed in a timely fashion.

If I had to bet my life on it I'd say it's Verizon that's holding it up. That's why mine actually happened in 20 business days come to think of it. By the 12th or so day I turned on the heat with my contacts at the AG's office, PUC office and Verizon.
I guess you have to hold their feet to the fire when it comes to this.

In addition to dslreports you should also contact:
Your state public utilities commission. After all, Verizon and other carriers still have to listen to the local PUC's.
Second, contact your state AG's office or DA's office. They usually have public regulatory attorneys on staff that can help.

Post subject: 10 Months and Still Waiting -- Verizon in VA
Multiple e-mails, phone calls to
Vonage
and Verizon, complaint to FCC, etc., since September 8, 2004 notification from
Vonage
to Verizon have only resulted in 50% refund of monthly charges from
Vonage
. That helps, but doesn't begin to address inconvenience. Otherwise, I love it. Apparently the number I wish to port is now with Bell South... I've begun to give out my "new" DSL line number as my home number...

I live west of Boston (Westborough), MA
June 18, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
June 18, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
June 22, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
July 5, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer
July 5, 2005 Completed LNP Transfer
Today before noon (7/5) the transfer took effect. I even called home from work and heard my
Vonage
voice mail answer!
So 11 business days (giving them the 4th of July as a holiday)
Not bad, considering the horror stories I have heard.

So 16 business days. I'm pleased.
