Hi,

I've been a Vonage customer for about 4 months now and very happy with the service. Yea, one or two calls may drop a month but big deal.. it's usually to people who I rather hang up on anyway. The voice quality I really cant tell the difference because I use my cell phone most of the time. Anyway, my quesiton is this.. someone went to the caribbean a week ago and the idiot called me collect and stupid me accepted about 3 of those calls. I'm not sure how this works but I did call the caribbean and was able to see the bill instantly but how does Vonage bill for collect calls?

Have you looked at your Vonage online account for any change in billing activity? Have you contacted Vonage to see if there any new charges on your account? They (Vonage) would probably would have an answer for you. If you find out...please post so we will all know whether or not to accept future collect calls. The last collect call I received was on my old pots line and got burned to the tune of $15.00 for a three minute call 200 miles way from a well-known carrier,AT&T. Never accepted a collect call since. Sad

My bad, you did say you have already seen the billing, I would think they would bill your credit card on your monthly due date.

If Vonage recorded the collect calls (you implied you saw the billing activity) then I would assume Vonage would debit your credit card account for the extra charges at the time of your next payment.

If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me.

I just got off the phone with Vonage billing and they told me that Vonage is set up to NOT take collect calls. The rep said if someone called me collect that a recording comes on saying this number cannot accept collect calls. I wonder if there is a kink in their system that allowed Venusfan to get those colllect calls for FREE!.
If anyone has been billed for a collect call please post to this forum.

wow.. It didn't work for me.. but my friend called me from Puerto Rico and the collect call came through MCI.. however when he went on to Dominica and tried calling me collect the calls would not come through.. on his way when he was in Puerto Rico he called me again and it came though as a collect call. I checked the billing activity and all I have is the charge for me calling Dominica but not the collect calls. I checked the call activity and I see 3 calls where it says anonymous and no numbers.

I for one know for a FACT that collect calls can be made.

1 1/2 years ago I had an employee that ended up getting arested for something, he was already on probation. I got a collect call from the jail.

Maybe something Vonage did lately?

like many others, I've accepted my last collect call.

I tell people that if they need to call me, use their cell phone to crash me an email with CALL ME and a number and I'll call from my Vonage line or my packet8 line. Cheaper. Then again I have a friend that's a Vonage customer. When he goes to the DR or colombia he takes his Vonage box with him,
