When trying to place a phone call after approximately 8 seconds the internet connectivity light shuts off without dropping the call. IT oes this intermittently during the duration of the call. While still on the same call when the internet connectivity light shuts off, the phone call does not disconnect but the person I am speaking with cannot hear me, and I cannot hear them. firmware is 1.26.01, it is set for static IP and I can connect to the internet. I use Roadrunner business class service. Has Anyone else received this problem and have you been able to fix it?...Please help. Thank you |

First, there is a firmware update to 1.27.01 for the RT31P2. Send a PM to ssantana (a senior tech at Vonage) with your account info and ask him to push it to you. That's not part of his job, but he does this as a courtesy to the members of this site.
Be sure you don't have a dongle or shorted cable in the unused phone port on your adapter, as that will stop the firmware update from being accepted. (Those are work-around solutions to the problems some folks have had with noise in the RT31P2, which is why I thought you might be using them.)
Second, the problem sounds like you're having packet loss problems -- which should not happen with business class service. You might want to go to http://www.dslreports.com/tools and run some tests. You can then post the results here, so we can have a look at them and give you some advice.
I'm not as expert as many others here. Also there are several senior techs from Vonage (including ssantana and vonagebest) who watch these forums and usually offer help on diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
