Hi, I just switched from a modem/router combo that had 4 ports on the back. one port was connected to an Apple Airport Extreme wifi router and one was connected to my Vonage D-Link VTA-VR.
My new modem is just a modem, no router, no wireless, with ONE ethernet port on the back. My new setup is as follows:
Modem -> Airport Extreme -> 24 port gigabit switch (no Vonage device yet)
I specifically changed to a modem only to get away from a Double NAT issue on the Airport, which existed because the modem was set as a router and the Airport was set as a router.
I need to fit the Vonage device into the configuration above but the VTA-VR does not have an ethernet OUT port, just in. I don't think I can connect the Vonage device to the Airport, but I would like to.
Is there a way I can set things up as follows?
Modem -> Airport Extreme ->Vonage on one port and Switch on another port
I appreciate any insights. Jeff |

Hi there. Looks like you're on a tough situation. Did you manage to get this set up already? If so, how please? |
