Hi all,
Pretty new to Vonage, happy with the quality of calls (using shorted RJ11 trick), but like many others, am waiting for LNP xfer from Qwest.
January 8, 2005 Awaiting Letter of Authorization January 10, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received January 10, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier
My 20 business days have come and gone, but not by much, and I've noticed where others have waited a looooong time.
So far I've call the lnp 1-866-496-6359 number a couple times, but haven't had much luck there.
The one thing making me nervous is that I called Qwest, and they said they while they had no lock or freeze on my account, they had no record of a request from Vonage for transfer.
I'm kind of hesitant to raise too much stink right now, because I want to give the "process" a chance to work, but then again I don't want to just sit and rot for months on end.
Is there something else I should do, or should I just give it a little longer?
Thanks all,
Mike |

Same thing happened to me.
When I called my ATT callvantage, They said they haven't got anything but Vonage says that carrier has a waiting list so whenever our priority comes, our documents will be sent to exisiting phone company |

I am also a Qwest customer (here in Seattle.) 1/28/05: Started Vonage account. 1/29/05: eMailed a PDF of signed LOA form to Vonage. 1/31/05: LOA received by Vonage. 2/07/05: Called Qwest. They told me my number would be transferred by 2/16/05 & my Qwest account closed too. So the process can take the 20 days they say. If Vonage only sent Qwest your LOA on 2/10 , from what I've experienced, it could take Qwest several days for it to be scheduled, and or show up in their system. What I have done in the interim is to call forward my Qwest phone number calls to my Vonage virtual number. This way anyone calling my old & soon to be transferred number will ring through to Vonage. This way I haven't worried too much how long the process would take. I understand that you may not have Call Forwarding on your Qwest account. The only thing that I don't like is that I'm paying for two phone services while the number is being transferred. But I figure that's part of the "cost" of keeping my old number. Hope that helps some. Joe |

Mike/Jds
My transfer history : December 29, 2004 Awaiting Letter of Authorization January 3, 2005 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received January 3, 2005 Transfer Sent to Carrier February 8, 2005 Carrier Approved Transfer February 9, 2005 Completed LNP Transfer
I usually "bugged" (mostly via phone) Vonage once every couple of days from Jan 23rd onwards...On Feb 4th (1 month after I sent the LOA), I talked to a CS rep who credited me with 1 month's fee but couldnt provide any update on the status. I ended up sending a letter to dslreports@vonage.com and jeffery.citron@vonage.com. I got a nemail confirming my transfer 15 minutes after I sent an email to the CEO. I ma guessing my transfer had already been approved when I sent the email to the CEO..so dont read too much into it. but I have read on this forum where the Executive Response Team has been most helpful in getting a status update/resolution. |

I guess I'll go out with the emails on Monday. I do think the problem is more on Qwest's side though. Qwest's "spirit of service" has always been something of a myth. |

PM me with contact info and I will get a status update for you. And a response from Vonage via email.
And if it has been more than 20 days I will crdiet your account if you havent been credited already so you are not being double billed till the transfer goes through.
Thank you for your patience. |
