Just wondering if something unusual is going on at the LNP department. Tried my daily call to see if any movement on my LNP. Usually get put on hold for awhile, but this time the message said to call later due to "unusually high volume".
Are they really just unable to keep up with the calls or has something happened in the last couple days? |

I really don't want to pay for another month of Qwest while waiting for my LNP to happen. My question is moving to this:
Can I abandon the LNP process, simply call Qwest and terminate service, and then get a new number from Vonage?
Thanks |

a hillarious (not) update:
i decided to abandon my lnp since i didn't want to pay another month to qwest, and Vonage had "in stock" numbers for my local area. it wasn't that big a deal for me to keep my number, but would have been nice.
so i cancelled the lnp yesterday, and found out this morning that they just ran "out of stock" of local numbers for me!
isn't that a hoot! |

Just a follow-up ...
2/14/05: My number was transfered & my Qwest account closed.
Vonage & Qwest are getting the job done in the amount of time they said they would. Well .... in Seattle & in my case at least.
Good luck to all of those still waiting. |

Glad to hear Qwest is getting some transfers done timely. I am still waiting from Jan 4. I keep getting the same generic email replys. At least they are crediting me a month of free sevice for the wait. |

Finally reached the end of the adventure road today. After only being out of stock of numbers in my area for two days, Vonage got some more and I scored one of them.
Unfortunately, I lost the LNP battle, and had to settle for a new number. I just couldn't bring myself to give Qwest another month's bill for nothing, and there was nothing to indicate that LNP was going to happen anytime soon.
Getting a credit to offset the 9.99 charge for changing the number was the last step.
But I'm happy with the call quality, which is consistently excellent. So all in all I'm a relatively happy camper now. |
