I just got my "stuff" from Vonage. I did a test yesterday and everything seemed to work fine. I have a Siemens 8825 system - 2 lines multiple handsets. My questions are... How do I get a regular telephone to work that is not close to my regular set up(non Siemens) is that possible? When I did my test - the Siemens phones worked great calling out - but when you called the numbers it still went to my MCI vm - is that because the process is not complete on the number portability part? |

while ur number Portability is still "under process", Vonage gives you a temp. number. You can call this temp number and it will ring on ur vonage-phone. |

Thanks for the link it makes a lot of sense now. I understand about the time to get the number switched over. The thing that was confusing me was I got an email yesterday while I was testing my system with a VM on it - on my 2nd line. How could that happen if the portability portion has not been completed? They did not have my virtual number. |

that can happen if the calling Party is also with Vonage i.e. if someone who is a Vonage subscriber calls ur POTS/old number, it will ring on ur Vonage line. |
