I successfully setup the voice mail feature. But I can't the extensive menu that my callers have to listen to when they leave a message. Plus they have to push # after they leave a message. Is there a way to configure the voice mail so the callers can just leave a message like most phone machines, and don't have to hear a bunch of different menu items? |

I had the same exact issue when I first setup my account, and it freaked me out. In my case though by the 2nd day of having the service, a message could simply be left and then hanging up the phone.
Not sure if this will solve your problem, but I know in my case it just fixed itself on its own. |

Thanks for the words of encouragement. You're right the initial menus do go away. I left afew messages for myself and just hung up. I received the voice mail just fine.
Thanks,

Wow! I see what you mean. This is quite a barbaric voicemail system. I wonder how many of my callers simply hung up rather than go through a lengthy question and answer session, twice. |

I thought the same thing in the beginning also. Just as you found out, all you have to do is hang up after leaving a message. |

Actually, this is a very professional voicemail system. The University of Minnesota uses it and it works VERY well. Anyway, I'm not understanding how callers must wade through menus to leave a message. Mine says:
"To leave a voice message press 1 now or wait for the tone. To leave a numeric page press 2 now."
BEEP
Even if yours says to press # after leaving a message - this is not necessarry - it's only if the caller wants to leave another message, re-record the message and other options. |

You can turn this off here is how
1. Dial *123 from your Vonage phone.
2. Press 9
3. Then press 4 at the next menu. **It will NOT say anything about pressing 4, but if you do so it will give you options for giving callers a menu or not. |

Thanks Trek234
I was looking for such a hack for a while because most of my caller are French speaking guys (as I am) and are not used to listen to english message. Now they will be able to let me their message right after my greetings. Great. |

When I press 4 the only option it gives me at that point is to turn incoming callback numbers on... prompting the caller to leave their number after recording their message. Should there be more options? |

This happens sometimes when you're not wearing your Vonage cap.
