I'm looking for someone at Vonage who might be reading these forums who might be able to help me port from AT&T CallVantage.

My transfer paperwork was submitted to the carrier on 1/27, according to the Vonage website. I would really like to get this port done quick if possible so I can be totally canceled with AT&T before my first month is up. AT&T says they will do it immediately if Vonage will FAX them an order and give them a transfer date.

I realize that there are a lot of other people trying to get ports done but it sounds like AT&T will be quick about it if I can get Vonage to act.

Is there anyone out there who can help me out?

BTW, popular opinion tends to rate CallVantage above Vonage but that was NOT my experience at all. I really should have known better... it was AT&T after all!

I have vonage right now. I am still waiting to port number from ATT callvantage to vonage.

If vonage can fax directly to ATT callvantage, Please let me know.

I also want to tranfer my number quick from ATT callvantage to vonage. I submitted documents on 1/19 and still waiting reply from LNP dept.

it's been 15 business days for you. everything says wait 20 business days. some have been shorter, most have been longer from what I've seen.
as far as vonage, they use other companies to port (such as XO communications, and I believe someone said focal or something like that).
so as I understand it, vonage has little control over it, and it's more up to the companies actually doing the port (for instance, porting from packet8 to vonage was actually from level3 communications to XO for me).

ATT Callvantage Fax # 281-664-5032

If vonage sends fax request to tranfer line, ATT will do it right now.
This is what I was told by ATT CSR

I ported from CallVantage to Vonage about four months ago to save a few dollars per month. Huge mistake. I have been very unhappy with Vonage, both from a call quality perspective and a support perspective.

The call quality was vastly better with ATT CallVantage. There have been multiple instances in the few months that I have had Vonage where I had to hang up and call from my cell phone -- during important conference calls!!! My friends also experience the same problem. Moreover, the Vonage India-based tech support is joke. Their phone lines are of poor quality, even when calling from a non-Vonage number.

I think Vonage doesn't have its QoS setup correctly. They are also cutting too many corners to keep costs down.

Now the problem is, ATT CallVantage can't port my Vonage number. No reason is given, so I am stuck with Vonage.
