You can elect to not accept the upgrade. I do not have a changelog so I can understand how some people might elect to hold off.

Steve,

Thanks again for pushing the update to me last night.

Now, may I ask what happens if my router config is set to disable remote upgrades. Will Vonage-pushed updates still take effect or will the router stop them? I had mine enabled last night, so I don't know what would have happened otherwise -- but some here told me that the setting doesn't affect Vonage pushes.

Thanks.

Fletcher

this is a question I was surprised hadn't come up on these boards yet, so I fired off an email to Vonage tech support for a couple reasons (to find out the answer obviously and to see how long a response would take). it was sent january 20th...
so good thing you asked, otherwise I don't think I'd ever get the answer.

I've downloaded quite a few firmwares in my day, and i was wondering how long it should take?

I rebooted after recieving ssantana's reply (Dude, you are a machine! It was only like a minute and a half after I asked Very Happy ), but it's been 20 minutes and my Phone1 and 2 ports are still blinking thier SOS Morse code. Internet isn't affected. I did power off and back on after the message.

Just curious, since I don't work for Vonage and not sure of the setup. (You guys hiring? Wink )

ssantana IS a machine - he PM'ed me quickly after my request for the update. After rebooting the 31P2, I logged on and verified the new version.

I then checked to see if that phaser noise was gone. Alas, it seemed like it went down just a bit, but still there, so the shorted RJ11 went back in. This made the noise go away of course.

I don't know if the upgrade did anything else helpful, but it didn't hurt me, so for me it's a wash.

If the update has yet to complete I would try removing any phones that are connected to ports 1 or 2. (This includes the workaround fix jack) Reboot the device and do not plug in any phones until the light comes on.
Anyone still having any issues should pm me. Smile

Removing the phones did the trick.. My upgrade went through.

Now how about that changelog?
