I have not had any problems with my 1.27.01. I too was upgraded automatically, seen no differences from the prior version, and have had no internet problems.

In fact the problem just occurred again - internet access stops working.

I went to the router web interface only to find the unit was restarting itself.

So... it looks like it now crashes and reboots itself under watchdog. Gits. I was quite happy with it before this automatic remote update. I will be phoning support tomorrow.

You know, it's funny, last night I was in a chatroom and randomly got mad about my Vonage router so I started a quick rant about how Vonage was silly to partner with Linksys since the router's so unreliable and junky...

As I put in the last line of my rant, xchat's lag bars started going up, internet radio stopped...

Oh this is beautiful. I go to the router's web interface and it's desperately trying to reconnect, I click reconnect, it restarts itself.

The timing was just hilarious.

My wireless router is a linksys as well, its the only router I have owned that has not given me any trouble. I had a siemens, and a netgear, and a belkin, all fail and were unreliable. the linksys keeps going strong for over a year now.

Just a bump for the thread. Latest on my RT31P2 is 1.28.

Did anyone ever uncover a changelog series for the firmware updates?

I'm still at 1.24...my Vonage box is behind my firewall though but all appropriate ports are being forwarded correctly. Maybe I'll put it outside my firewall for a few minutes and reboot it and see if it gets the update.

if by "appropriate ports" you mean 5060 – 5061 (UDP) and 10000 – 20000 (UDP), that's not what you need. it updates through tftp (which is port 69). so add that if you haven't already. or put it in the dmz which eliminates all of the above.
