As SuperDave and others have mentioned in this thread, my adapter was also updated automatically last night to 1.27. I did not enable remote updates and did not reboot my router (and I did not PM ssantana to get it pushed to me). It was at 1.24 last night before I went to bed and this morning it is at 1.27. Phone seems to be working just fine (as always). Quality of the line may be a little clearer now -- it's hard to tell - but I wan't complaining before.

Do you have a shorted RJ11 cable or off-hook phone in an unused phone port 2? If so, that prevents updates from being accepted by the RT31P2.

If the update has yet to complete I would try removing any phones that are connected to ports 1 or 2. (This includes the workaround fix jack) Reboot the device and do not plug in any phones until the light comes on.
Anyone still having any issues should pm me.

I wonder why it affects some users and not others. does ssantana push it differently than the apparent random pushed updates Vonage sends? (i.e. like myself, superdave and some others received)

By "rebooting," do you mean you power cycled or that you did a full reset?

If you have not done so already, you might want to try a reset. Unplug all phones and devices from the RT31P2 first and be sure you hold the reset button down at least 20 seconds before releasing it. Then wait at least five minutes after it restarts before you do anything with it. Also, if after it restarts you see the power indicator blinking, that problably means it is updating. Don't disturb it while the power light is blinking or you could damage the unit during upgrade.

Well, thanks for trying to help, but that didn't work either.

all 3 of your 3 posts are on this page, and none mention that you requested the update from a Vonage rep here or from calling Vonage. so I guess you just want it to appear like it has for some of us. if that's the case, resetting and this and that won't help. when Vonage sends it, it will update. if you just want it to say you have it, you'll need to either ask the Vonage rep in this forum for it (instructions are on the first page of this post) or just wait patiently. Vonage hasn't pushed this update to everyone yet, and I have no idea if they plan on updating their entire customer base. if not, you may never get the update without requesting it.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that. Surprised

I did request an update via PM to ssantana. Maybe he just hasn't received it yet. Either way, it doesn't matter. My device is working fine. Thanks for the replies.

I've reset mine 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 20 seconds, and 30 seconds.. none of which did crap. How the hell is the router supposed to grab the firmware anyway if it can't connect since the 20 second reset wipes the PPPoE settings?

I hope I get that 1.27 update soon because this is getting on my nerves -- the web browser updater is useless and always ends at 401s (I can't believe Crisco would go for an IE-ONLY route to the point where uploading doesn't work with any other browser, and doesn't even work with iE hahaha).. and a normal tftp updater doesn't work either.. why? The voice module is locked.

So I'm disappointed so far, but I'll give it until Monday or Tuesday. Thank goodness the LNP hasn't finished just yet or I'd be in trouble.

For whoever works on the firmware, here's a few things that could use work:
1. Not enough port forwarding options (no way to "add more")
2. DDNS only allows one hostname
3. The update firmware thing is useless.

I guess that's about it... for now *sigh*

If I buy a router to put in front of this chances are very good it *won't* be linksys.. as much as I'm tempted to get a wrt54g (not gs or the vonage-hacked-in version), and flash it with a nice linux setup :\
