PostPosted: Fri Mar 14, 2003 4:22 pm    Post subject: stutter dial tone Reply with quote Back to top

Folks, My understanding is that I should only get the "stutter" dial tone when I have voice mail... the problem is I get it ALL the time. There is no voice mail in either my regular voice mail or the "archived" mail that vonage set up this week. I've checked both online and via phone to make sure they were cleared...

anyone have a clue as to how to correct this? I now feel compelled to check the voice mail whenever I pick up the phone and hear the dial tone!

Thanks in advance..

Bob

BOb:

FYI: I use to have a desktop support person that I paid $35K a year to that did nothing but walk around the office to instruct people to re-boot. Sad

Hehe
I work with IT in education - and reboot is my first answer for any problem. 90% of the time it sorts the 'problem' - something always worth bearing in mind.

Folks... I got a call from vonage support, and thought I would pass this along since it wasn't mentioned... they told me to always clear the last call from voice mail via the phone NOT via the web interface. They said that clearing it via the phone takes care of the stutter...

and, thanks for all the help on this....
