I recently received a call from Cablevision asking for me by name...on my new Vonage number.
Has anyone else recieved unsolicited marleting calls...where they ask for you by name. If so, from who.
Just a little curious.... |

I've not had any myself ... but have you given out your Vonage number to ANY business?
(e.g. web sites, credit card companies, magazine subscriptions, etc.)
These are all good "sources" for telemarketers and any "new" info will propagate with amazing speed. |

Or perhaps you transferred your number?
I've been on Vonage for 8 months now and never had a telemarketing call. |

I've actually not transfered my number. Also, I have not given it out to any other service provider.
Though when you call my 'old' number, we leave a message giving out the new number. I guess it's possible that in such a short time frame Cablevision called my old number, go the new one, and started calling.
Just realy anoying...I HATE telemarketing calls.
I guess I'll just have to update my http://www.donotcall.gov listing. |

company’s what? It's companies not 'company’s'. I though it was only the Brits who had that screwed up way of spelling words with apostrophes when they don't need them http://www.apostrophe.fsnet.co.uk |

I think this is funny. Did you notice how Telcoman had to include a "[sic]" in order to even cite this grammatical injustice? (My) Special Someone also fumes for ten minutes at apostrophe abuse sightings when we go out walking through the neighborhood. Good thing I was nearly an English major*!
