To reset to the factory default settings (I have a Vt1000v so it is probably the same for VT1005), plug your PC directly to the phone modem PC port, open a browser, in the URL field type: 192.168.102.1/.admin.html (<dot>admin<dot>html) then follow the instructions. I had to reset mine one time and that's the instruction which I got from the Vonage support person. |

OK What no one piped up and voiced was the fact that I changed the IP address of the units WAN port, not the PC port. So this was not pertiinent info to my question at all. The config web page is on the PC port at 192.168.102.1 and the IP address of the computer plugged into the PC port must be 192.168.102.X with x being anything between 2-254. Where I messed up was I thought if the IP address of the puter was 192.168.1.0 with a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0 I could access 192.168.102.x. This is apparently not true. |

The way to see both 192.168.0.x and 192.168.102.x is when you have this configuration: cable modem->phone modem->router->computer (that's what I experienced anyway) |

The WAN port is the outbound side of the switch.. Or in the case of the router.. where that is plugged..
Best bet is this.. The unit should have a wan port and a pc port..
Plug ur pc into the PC port.. and let ur PC get an IP from the unit..
If the DHCP of the unit is OFF, then u must configure the ip manually..
it is simple..
192.168.102.1 is the gateay 255.255.255.0 is the subnet 192.168.102.100 is the pc's ip address.
once this is set.. goto IE and type in 192.168.102.1 |
