Hi,
I am new to Vonage and trying to port my existing phone number from comcast to Vonage. I initiated the number porting process and it got cancelled that the number is inactive. But the number is active and i am using it daily. I called Vonage customer service and they initiated the process again. But it got cancelled for the second time saying that my comcast number is inactive. When i call Vonage customer service all they can do it initiate the process again. The worst part is i get calls from Vonage customer service every day saying that my number porting is going on fine but I don't gets call from Vonage from the day it gets cancelled.
Anyone going through the same scenario? or anyone know how to deal with the situation?

Do you have some kind of block on your Comcast line. Contact Comcast and see if they received the port request. Make sure that your name, Comcast account number and address are correct. If any of those are not correct, the port will not go through. |

No blocks so far. The response from Vonage is the phone has been disconnected. Where as my comcast phone is very well working. the CSR said not to call comcast since they may disconnect my line. When i talked to Vonage they said they are escalating to level 2 support and gave me a ticket number. Not sure what this means, but hoping for a good results.
Can you suggest me anythign else i can do to speed up the process? |

This is the 5th time Vonage customer service is trying to port my number from comcast in the past 3 months. This time its been 15 days. Usually the it gets cancelled within 2 days with the status that the phone is inactive. This time status of my number porting says still in process. But weird part is anyone calling from Vonage to my comcast number they get comcast voice mail setup instructions. Even if i call from my vonage(temporary number) to my comcast number i get comcast voice mail setup instructions. Anyone calls from outside Vonage the call goes through. Its been like this for 10 days. I am reluctant to call comcast or Vonage due my to my previous experience all they do is restart the number transfer process and this time I don't want to loose my number.
I have been paying Comcast and Vonage full price for the past 3 months. The CSR i talked to (alok) said he will call me everyday to give me an update. its been one week no one called and I am scared to call because of not sure what will be consequence since i get different action/response from Vonage.
anyone experienced the same symptom of getting comcast voice mail instruction when calling from Vonage phone during number porting process?
I appreciate any comment and help in this regard.
Thanks |
