Post subject: SoftPhone as alternative to router when travelling
I spend considerable time in Mexico & the
Philippines
. It appears that my
Vonage
Linksys router is currently being blocked by TelMex's Prodigy Infinitium broadband service. [Thanks to Reebok for helping me try to analyze why I have never been able to achieve connection from Mexico.]
Is it possible to work around this blockage with a
Vonage
SoftPhone? Or does it use the same port?
Also, is it possible to install the same software on my desktop in Mexico AND my desktop in the
Philippines
under a single license?
Perhaps I should just give up on
Vonage
and turn to DialPad or Net2Phone instead?

Hi Tomcolvin,
I would like to know if you've ever pushed through with using the softphone in the
Philippines
. If you have, what have you been using to connect? How is it working for you? I'll be in
Manila
for about 2 weeks and currently debating on how to bring my
Voip
on my trip.
