Looking to get Vonage service in a new home and have questions regarding whether to go with the PAP 2 adaptor or the RT31P2 router. Is one more compatible/reliable than the other? Reasons for using one over the other?
I'll have Brink's security service and a wireless network. Is it easier to get Brink's to function with the adapter or the router?
Appreciate any information. |

I have three Vonage lines (two voice, one fax) and both the PAP2 & the RT31P2. As far as Brinks is concerned, I have the "3000" model and have my Vonage running household-wide. When I made the switch my Brinks 3000 continued to work with no adjustments whatsoever from me or Brinks.
Of course, this is with my set-up. Yours may be different. I can tell you however, the test signals go out with no fault and so do the alrarms (we set it off by accident a few times last week...ouch, my ears!).
Good luck! |
