Porting from Sprint wireless to Vonage

Back in October I ported a cell phone line which had been our home phone under cable service over to Vonage. Two months later Sprint is still charging the line and states that Vonage never requested the port. Vonage reported that the port was complete in October and our phone has been receiving calls on that number through Vonage. Sprint tells me that Vonage must call their port department to request the transfer but I keep telling Sprint that Vonage already did that and now has the number - HELLO. I have now made 3 calls to customer service and 1 call to their port department with told today that the number will be stricken from their service and after examining my record will contact me with status and credit evaluation of my bill.

Of note though, Vonage told me they would NOT call Sprint and said that they do not call carriers to port numbers - I don't understand this since I had to give them permission to have my number transferred to them so they HAD to go to the carrier for that. This has been a nightmare and I hope I do not regret moving to Vonage (so far we really like the service).

Any comments or suggestions will be much appreciated.

Looks like that this is a long time issue but how was this resolved if I may ask?
