So, can I use this Phone Tray software on my cable modem which has a Vonage PAP2 device attached? I'm sketchy on how this works for Vonage if your using a PAP2 device and a cable modem behind a router. Keep in mind, I don't make calls from my PC even though I do have Vonage, I use my existing telephones.

PhoneTray works with your modem, it is independent of Vonage. It will work with any telephone connection through a modem that supports caller ID. You connect your computer's modem to your Vonage line, in addition to other telephones you may have connected to Vonage.

I loaded the phone tray software and the caller ID works great however others cannot hear my ZAP *.wav, it just disconnects the call. Any ideas on how to configure it so people on the other end can hear the ZAP wav I choose? It seems to be a fairly straight forward piece of software.

You probably need a newer modem.

Youe modem may not be Voice modem. Only voice modem can support *.wav.

I am back now,,,,,,

OK, I need help. I purchased a voice modem (Intel 536EP V.92) and installed it, it says everything is compatible with PhoneTray however when I get a call I get the following message in a popup box "TAPI error 80000043 PhoneTray cannot zap this call." Sad Does anyone know how to fix this. I bought this modem because I was told it would work this best with PhoneTray. My older ModemBlaster would disconnect the call but they couldn't here the message so it wasn't voice compliant. The Intel modem says everything is working as it should.

What operating system are you using? Windows 95?

I did a web search, and it looks like this is what your error message means:

Quote:
Either tapiaddr.dll could not be located or the telephone service provider for the specified device found that one of its components is missing or corrupt in a way that was not detected at initialization time. The user should be advised to use the Telephony Control Panel to correct the problem
.

I would recommend uninstalling the modem software and re-installing it. I would also advise trying to find an updated driver on Intel's web site. It appears this is a problem with your modem's software/drivers.

Also, try uninstalling/re-installing the phone tray software.

I fixed the TAPI error by installing a new sound card (SB Live) other than the onboard one but now it shows all calls as N/A. I tried the fix CID option with no luck, any suggestions? I loaded the newest drivers from the Intel website.

In the PhoneTray software, under the Settings tab, there is a button that says "Fix CID". Have you tried clicking on that?

I'd either try calling up Intel customer support and try to get help, or exchange it for another modem.

I'm sorry I don't have any other ideas.
