Smile I read some reviews regarding this freeware. Installed in on my pc and honestly I am quite impressed. The caller id on your pc modem will display your caller id info on the monitor and will provide call blocking to any number you want to predesignate or you can choose to block any calls that display "private, blocked, etc.." I ran spybot after the installation to make sure nothing else was installed with this freebie. It has a lot of other features that may be of use to many Vonage, or for that fact any POTS line users . On Win XP it uses just under 6MB of your ram. Upside=free, Downside=PC must be always on for any of the features to work. TRUST ME. Just kidding, thanks to Pankej for the link to a useful tool.

Thanks god there is one vonage customer appreciate my word "TRUST ME"

pankej,

Thanks for the tip. It seems to work wonderfully. I went out and bought a phone splitter so I could hook this up to my modem! It's not being used for anything else, this at least gives me a good use for it. And I keep my computer on all the time anyway.

It does look interesting and I will look into it. I am having one problem, though, in understanding what you have to say. Please understand that this is in no way meant to insult you, humiliate, or deride you. I want to make that plain to you. I am having a very hard time understanding your grammar. Your sentences are very difficult to read. They often make no sense at all. I apologize if this sounds offensive to you. I do not mean to be so. I simply wish to understand what your saying.

I too am trying to lobby Vonage to include a Privacy Manager product, similar to what I had with SBC.
It appears that PANKEJ2000 has some sort of a vested interest in preventing this. Even if you are completely sold on a product, why would you try so hard to prevent Vonage from providing this service?
I would venture to say that most of us do not have a PC running with our service, I in fact have a laptop that I take with me to work everyday, leaving no PC at home to answer my system.
It seems to me to be a no-brainer, and I hope that Vonage will see it this way also.

The ultimate blocker, in my opinion, is called Security Screen by Qwest. It gives the anonymous caller a chance to identify themself. My own calls from work to home end up being anonymous because of an outdated phone system here at work. Yet I can still identify myself to the wife by inputting my number (have it in a one key speed dial). It would be great if Vonage would emulate it.

Security Screen, intercepts all calls from blocked and unidentified numbers and requires these anonymous callers to supply their phone number or a numeric code before their call can be completed. Unidentified callers also hear a message telling them to hang up if they're a solicitor.

Could somebody explain what is meant by the phrase, "PhoneTray requires a modem with caller ID support"?

This is my temporary solution to use this service. If vonage is ready to provide this service I can pay upto $5 per month which I was paying to my SBC. I did not mean to try so hard to prevent Vonage from providing this service. This is my temporary solution.....

I am just new vonage cutomer since three week. So Be NICE to me

Every modem is mostly capable of Caller ID but You have to initialize some extra command like AT+VCD =1
This is most common command to capable modem identifying caller ID

This software is adding some commands to modem to initialize and reboot your PC. You are done.

Good luck SIR
