Post subject: Strange...
I'm somewhat puzzled then. I assumed that it was somehow connected to
Vonage
since it appears the forum is able to authenticate
Vonage
customers. Are you essentially telling me that I need to change my
Vonage
password post-haste since I'm reasonably sure that I entered it while signing up for this forum?
Thanks to whoever is providing the forum, unless they're about to do nasty things with my authentication info.

I would. I'm reasonably certain Dan won't abuse your password, because he's a fan of
Vonage
enough to be providing these boards to help their customers, and obviously has
Vonage
account(s) of his own, so yours probably would not interest him.
However,
Vonage
and Vonage-Forum are completely unrelated websites, and I'd most certainly have different passwords for the two if I were you.

Your password on this site is encrypted in the forum database.
It is secure.
Feel free to change it if you so wish.

Post subject: Thanks
Thanks Dan (and NateHoy),
Certainly nothing personal, but with the phishing etc. going on out there I didn't wait for a response to change it. Seeing your use of Vonage's logos, the professional look of the site, and enough traffic to convince me that it's a legit site, I assumed that there was an offical affiliation of some kind.
Apologies for my incorrect assumption. I guess it does explain the absence of a link from the
Vonage
site to your forum though.
So do you consider yourself a "fan" as NateHoy suggested? All in all I would consider myself to be pretty satisfied but I've experienced a few strange glitches and seeing that people have been asking for ACR and selective blocking forever didn't do much to up my comfort factor. Sorry for going WAAAAY off topic.
NateHoy: I didn't use the same password for the forum, but I thought I had entered it when I signed up for the forum to verify that I am a current
Vonage
customer. I may have confused myself since I was jumping back and forth between vonage.com and here though.
Thanks again!

I suspect it was exactly that.
I know that this site didn't ask me for anything about my actual
Vonage
account, and I went through the first day thinking that (1) this was a
Vonage
site (until I noticed the small print at the bottom, and (2) how odd it was that
Vonage
couldn't keep "their" message board and dash board synced on passwords.
Then I realized that this site and
Vonage
were two completely separate entities. Twins, separated at birth, as it were.

Post subject: "Anonymous Call Block"
So, I was surfing thru the Internet and I came accross this on the UK website of Vonage...and it actually works for us in the US too!
I don't know if this is old news, but I wanted to let people know if they didn't already...
If you dial *77 from your
Vonage
phone and listen to the prompts, it will activate "Anonymous Call Block" on the line, so you will not receive any calls from anyone who is blocking their Caller ID...
They will be greeted by this message;
"This call will not be completed because the party you are trying to reach is not accepting calls from callers who do not allow delivery of their Caller ID information...please hang up and try your call again with your Caller ID unblocked. Thank you - B190"
(I blocked my Caller ID on my cell phone and got that message when i attempted to call my
Vonage
phone)
To de-activate "Anonymous Call Block", just dial *87 from the
Vonage
device and listen to the prompts.
I hope this helped

Post subject: what about call blocking, its been around for years!!
all marketers have to do is have a non-anonymous caller id.
Where is regular call blocking where you can specify what numbers or IDs you want to block?
I get called by "800 Service" at least twice a day!!!?!?!?!

Post subject: Contact Book....
This functionality will be part of contact book in the future. It is currently in alpha as invite only but will eventually open up to the public. Not sure exactly when it will be part of contact book, but once you log into contact book, you can see it is coming due to the address book part of it.

is contact book a new
Vonage
feature? I don't see it.
I would like to be an alpha tester for the feature.
