Post subject: transfered calls to mobile come up as "unknown"
Hi,
I have been using
Vonage
for a couple of years now with no problems up till now. I have it set up to "simulring" so that the service rings my Iphone as soon as an incoming call is received and all worked well up till recently.
The problem I am having is that on my mobile all calls from
Vonage
appear as "unknown" whereas I used to get the callers number with the +44 at the start.
I just called my mobile direct from my home number and the caller ID came up on the phone and then tried calling my
Vonage
number which showed the caller ID on the
Vonage
router but comes up on my mobile as "unknown".
Does anyone else have this problem or know how to rectify it?

i got same problem now, started a few months ago i think, waiting to hear myself what the problem is

I had the very same problem with my
Voip
number with BT. I have signed up to
Vonage
and my free number worked perfectly. I have today had my old BT
Voip
number ported to my
Vonage
line and now I am faced with almost the same scenario except that incoming calls are showing as "out of area" both on my handset and on divert to me mobile. My situation just went from bad to worse. I hope they can fix it otherwise I have wasted time and money.

I spoke to tech support last night and was promised a call back in 10 minutes...the call never came.
Caller ID worked fine on my temporary number so I suspect that there is an issue with the number porting process.
