is not for you.
It is still new and expanding technology.

I absolutely agree. This is the reason I am still w/
Vonage
. New technology, great benefits when working... just experiencing growing pains 1st hand.
Give them (vonage) a chance.

When I called
Vonage
to get my router working (it does not remember the dynamic IP!), I was on hold 50 minutes.
But that's not record, that one belongs to Verizon support. I just been there to get my new phone number into the intercept message - after three 1 hour calls, it is still not working. I gave up.
True, Verizon is just another phone company, so what do you expect.
Unfortunatelly - so is
Vonage
. Just another phone company. Sad but true.

I can completely understand satpak77's frustration, although I have had no issues with
Vonage
.
Similar scenario with a vehicle: in '99 I purchased a brand new Sh*vrolet Tracky 4X4 and returned it to the dealer after two weeks due to poor performance, and several major failures (brake lights went out on a trip, heater stopped working, headlights went dead, intermittent "would not start"s)...all on a road trip to Vermont in the middle of a cold January. <was this thang built on a Monday!!??>
I've also had a lousy experience with a Del! PC (sent it back on day 2).
It's unfortunate but a fact of life that a poorly manufactured product or component or one that slips through the quality testing cracks (even just several out of thousands of the same model) can make a service provider look pretty bad. No Dr. Phil crap here, just a fact of life. I suppose that is why there is so much money to be made in the Quality Engineering employment fields (I know several in automotive...big $$$).
Anyhow, I must say I probably would have done the same.
Good luck to you, satpak77.

I have had service with US West, Verizon & Bell South and must agree that Verizon was the absolute worst for hold times (from
my
experiences). I have yet to phone
Vonage
and can only hope they are at least a bit better. But of course . . .

I hope for your sake you do not sign up for AT&T CallVantage service. I decided to try it and boy was that interesting. It took me 2 days just to get connected to the internet (first TA was defective), and another 2 days to get the TA activated with working phone service. I spent a total of about 10 hours on the phone, including waiting on hold time. It turned out that I had to tell the tech support person why my TA would not activate. They had me setup in their system for a Linksys TA, and I had a D-Link TA. I'm pretty sure that the lady knew I had a D-Link TA, because she kept calling it a "D-Link TA". And yes, I have since cancelled my service with them.
Thank goodness I did not cancel my
Vonage
service while I tried the AT&T CV service.

I got my
Vonage
service about a month ago and really like it - however, I too have had an impossible time attempting to reach a live person on customer support. The longest I've waited is 30mins. Quality of customer service really says something about a company.
Anyway, I plan to stay with
Vonage
because it's a great deal and it's working well for me thus far. I just hope their customer service improves.
Thanks
Jerry

I have been trying to help people here. I have tons of PMs and I have responded to them all.
But I get frustrated when people don't even give me a chance or cancel in one day, especially on the day I am trying to help them and just when I am first involved in the situation.
I am also curious as to why when offered a new device even, the person refused?
I love this forum a lot and I look everyday to try to help people but when I am not even given a chance to fix a problem I really wonder whether my efforts are in vain?

Vonagebest,
You and Steve Santanna and other
Vonage
reps have been great to help us here. The guy who started this thread only had an account for a few minutes. He obviously did not come here to get help, because he cancelled without giving anyone a chance. I would bet his problem was "human error" based on the way he approaches problem solving.
Please just ignore these folks and keep up the good work. We need you all here to help us and others who appreciate the time and effort you give us.
Thanks.

It is great that you are trying to help out! It shows you are a good employee with good company ethics. Everyone is different. I would not get discouraged by people making rash decisions or even attempt to figure out why they do it. The best thing to do is have empathy for these people. Their motives are not always clear. Never take this stuff personally. Although they sometimes do. Just imagine what it would be like if you were the spouse of this person, and thank God that you are not.
