kailes: You are just going to have to take this someplace else.
People are trying to help people here, at this point, you are just ranting.

Ok, let start over. I do not have the time to search all of your posts right now, so can you please explain in full detail exactly what your service issues are?
Please leave out the part about your personal feelings for
Vonage
support, that much I understand.

Did the fax machine work with POTS? We had to do tweaking each time I changed ATA/Routers around here, but my HPG85 works fine incoming and outgoing, even while somebody's on the other line or gaming. Does somebody have a different brand of fax machine you can bring over and try out? Maybe it
is
a problem with the machine.
There's so many things is can be, and it takes some trial and error to hit on the answer. BUT if you get the voice part of it working and you don't send/receive a lot of faxes, you can always just get a virtual faxing service like Efax for a backup. We use it for my business and so when I was having trouble with my machine, I'd just give them the Efax number to send to. Our account is about $12 a month for unlimited incoming, but I think you can get free accounts with certain parameters.
I wish I could tell you what it is support has done on their end to make my machine work, but I can't. Sometimes the first call didn't fix it, but I'd just keep checking back and they'd keep tweaking and then, voila, it would work. BUT it would also answer, so your problem sounds different for sure.
We have comcast cable, linksys
Vonage
router. I don't even have the DSL filters on the machine anymore and I'm running it off a wireless phone jack. How's THAT for stable?! But, again, each time I changed routers we had to tweak it.

I suggest to anyone considering a swich to any
Voip
, that you should keep your standard line until you have the
Voip
service running for a period of time.
Look at it as an experiment. If it works for you fine. You are ahead of the game and can save some money. If not, you get your money back from the provider and stay with a "bell".
This isn't for everone.

here is the issue
we started out with two voice lines with the intention that one would function as the fax line when needed. we bought a brand new lexmark 6170 all in one . from day one, out success rate was probably about 15 percent. finally about a week and a half ago, i called and had the line downgraded to a fax only line, hoping that would solve the problem. since then, i have not been able to receive faxes. as a matter of fact, the fax machine does not even ring. if you call the fax number, all it does is rings forever on your side, but nothing on our end. if you plug in a phone to the fax machine you hear the phone ring and can even answer it and talk on it, but no faxes. i even took the fax machine back and got a brand new fax machine that yielded the same results

Dumb question, but are you dialing *99 before faxing?
