I have purchased three of these devices and found that they not only block "Anonymous" calls, but "Out Of Area," "Unknown," and block by Area Code, Name or Number! http://www.intelescreener.com/ I have eliminated every Telemarketer Call from my Vonage home and fax numbers! This device prevents the phone from ringing and transmits "SIT" tones to fool telemarketer equipment into thinking the line is disconnected. The best invention since the phone was invented, that is until Vonage came along! |

There is a cheaper way to keep the telemarketers off you doorstep:
http://www.donotcall.gov
Try it!
I sure would like to block calls by phone number. I drool at the thought. |

This is a good one too... I have "joined" this list too. The exceptions to this list are, political parties, non-profits, bill collectors, etc. This device not only blocks the above-mentioned type calls, but can block any number you do not want to hear from! I think it blocks up to 100 names or numbers.
BTW, I don't work for InteleScreener, just came upon their site accidentally. |

What part of "I don't want to pay $100 for a device to get ACR features" do the shills for Vonage not understand?
I had ACR for the bubble when I was a Verizon customer. So when is Vonage going to actually include the feature instead of me spending anywhere from $100 to $500 to either buy one of those cheap POS devices or build my own Asterisk PBX so that I can just get ACR!
I'm just on the fence of jumping away from Vonage and going with either Packet-8 or Lingo. They don't seem to have problems implementing ACR. |

laws states: send a bill collector notification in writing...STOP. they must stop.
anyway, Caller ID is a must , but I like the idea of the telescreener Once upon a time before internet, when caller ID was very common, there were hacks and tweaks to the software used in BBS's and terminal programs like TELIX that would allow you to tweak the caller ID codes. Based on the numerical response code, you could tell the software to act a certain way. I've been looking at this idea again, except now with the more advanced technology I think a hardward device with a flash card for programming would be a very neat idea. |
