I just unplugged my Vonage RT31P2 and took it across town to a friends house, who is a VoicePulse subsriber and uses Voip.
I plugged it into his connection (DSL) and had no dial tone nor green Phone LED lights. In addition, on Status page, my Line1/Line2 status is completely blank.
No firewall, etc.
I do NOT want to be on hold with Vonage again for 1 hour. Ideas? Where can I mail this router to with a note requesting a new one?
thanks |

I called Vonage a few days ago with an issue, and they answered on the 4th ring after the automated prompts. Looks like they now have more support. |

The first time I plugged in my Vonage router it took over 10 minutes before the phone line started working. I believe my router was downloading a software update of some sort during this time.
If you've waited at least 10 minutes w/out getting a dial tone, tried different telephones, and you are plugged directly into the broadband connection (no firewall) then it sounds as if you might have a dead router.
You cannot return a faulty router without getting a RMA number first, and the only way I know of to get that RMA number is through tech support.
You might just be stuck calling tech support. Get a speakerphone, call the tech support number, and sit down with a good book or a television show while you wait.
Ask them if they will "expedite" your replacement at no additional charge (that means they will ship it overnight). See if they will also cover shipping charges for you having to ship back the defective router.
Good luck! |
