Hello all
My RT31P2 and Vonage was working fine for about 30 minutes until I had some problems with my internet. I shut my computer down, rebooted, and had NO DIAL tone ("Internet Light" was solid on, "Power Light" was on) and was unable to receive inbound calls/make outbound calls.
Internet is on and confirmed working, I am surfing the net and posting this.
Touch tones DID work (they made sounds).
Phone 1/2 status lights are unlit. Going to the router configuation page, under STATUS, shows Voice Version 2.0.12(LI). The entries under Line1 and Line2 status are completely blank.(---> ??).
I have de-powered, unhooked cables, rehooked cables, rebooted, about 85 times, with no luck. I am semi-computer savvy, this is not some soccer mom here (no offense).
MAC Address 00-12-17-DE-E4-57.
Loggin onto "Account" page shows "Active Account" (website).
Firewall DISABLED.
A "tftp tftp.vonage.net get test" inquiry returns 5 bytes in one second
Can anyone please help?
thanks
If any Vonage techs see this, my Vonage number is 817-993-0044.

I'm sure you have probably tried this already... but just in case, try this (in the exact order listed).
Unplug only the power cable from the back of your Cable/DSL modem.
If you have a router, unplug its power cable.
Unplug the black power cable from the back of the Vonage Phone Adapter.
Wait at least 2 minutes or follow the Cable/DSL modems manufacturer's instructions.
Plug your Cable/DSL modems power cable back into your device and wait for it to start up completely before continuing.
If you have a router, plug the power cable back in and wait for it to start up completely before continuing.
Plug in the power cable for the Vonage Phone Adapter.
Wait at least 3 minutes.
Reboot your computer and check to make sure that you have an Internet connection.
Pick up the telephone receiver and listen for a dial tone.

looks like you've done all the troubleshooting and then some. how is your network set up? also, was it wokring fine for 30 minutes total? in other words, have you only had the RT31P2 plugged in for 30 minutes since you've received it? I wonder if it was getting a firmware update when you had the internet problems that messed it up. |
