I have an increasing number of friends whose US mobile phone plans charge them extra to receive calls from outside the US (indeed my T-Mobile line does also). I wonder, is it possible to get an add-on number to my line, and have that as my outgoing CLI, or do I need to set up a Vonage US account and line for that?
Do your US friends actually get charged when you call them from the Canadian number? I find that calls from my Canadian Vonage number are actually treated as US calls. Note that telcos do not use CLI for billing purposes.

Well I always face this problem of increased bills due to long distance. So is it possible to get some plans that will make a group calling at quite a reasonable rates.
