I mailed my $50 rebate for the Linksys RT31P2 in over 13 weeks ago, and still no check. Has anyone had any sucess in getting their attention to get the rebate. I just spoke to a Vonage rep. and he said that I have to contact Best Buy about the rebate. Then he came back on the line and said it would be another 90 days, for at total of 180 days before I get anything.. I have never heard it take 6 months for a rebate. Does anyone have a clue there? |

Good Evening,
In regards to our rebate please bear in mind you must be a customer for at least 90 days. Once the 90 days complete you will then need to wait an additional 6-12 weeks for the rebate check to get to you. I do apologize for any mis-communication in this matter.

Excuse me. I am missing something here. Did you purchase your Linksys RT31P2 from Best Buy? If that is so, the router sells from between $80 to $90 retail. I have to be misunderstanding what is going on here, but then why a $50 rebate?
I purchased my RT31P2 direct from Vonage online for $25 first month service plus $30 installation fee plus $8 shipping UPS on Dec 20th. I received the router on Dec 28th. A few days delay over christmas and I was up and running in 5 minutes with never a single problem to date.
Why would anyone pay good money to a retailer when you can get the router for free? I never cared for rebates, personally. If the seller can't give me the discount right there on the spot, I tend to get suspicious about his advertising technique and I suddenly have a desire to leave the store for a better deal. |

I hope I didn't offend you with my entry. If I did, I apologize. If you want to own the router that's your business. I was simply curious how these new middlemen work. That's all. |

I purchased my PAP2 at Circuit City for $59.99 and get a $10 rebate from CC and a $50 rebate from Vonage. I was up and running on Vonage that same day. No Activation fee. Thats a $29.99 savings and I saved $8.99 on shipping. I can wait for the rebate but I think after the 90 days one should get their rebates issued then and not have to wait an additional 13 weeks! |

I can understand your frustration (which is why I avoid rebates like the plague lol)... but on the rebate form, it clearly states that you can expect the rebate up to 12 weeks after you have been a customer for 90 days. You can't fault Vonage for you not reading the fine print... and no, this isn't meant to offend, just stating a fact. Always read everything so you know what you're getting yourself into. |

Unfortunately the fine print on the sales receipt is given to you AFTER you have already paid for the PAP2. I Just think that when CC places the Free after rebate on the shelf tag that there should be some details about the qualifications and waiting period involved.
Edit: I'm not pissed at Vonage but at Circuit City |

Vonage LIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you read the fine print, it says:
Please allow 12 weeks after Vonage's receipt of your application and the completion of your 90-day service commitment, whichever is later, for delivery of your rebate.
Now I've been speaking english for the past 40 years, so I consider myself an expert. The usage of the word and in the above statement in no way implies that the time periods for these requirements are contiguous. It merely means that both requirements must be met. The statement whichever is later further clarifies this. It would make no sense if it were applied to contiguous periods.
Apparently some dumba** executive at Vonage decided to misinterpret the requirement to drag out the rebates. It could not have come from their legal department as even a freshman law student would know that the Vonage interpretation wouldn't hold up in court.
Anyone up for a class action suit? We wouldn't see much, but it would sure hurt Vonage. BTW- I haven't gotten my rebate yet either. I'm a tad upset. |
