I'm trying to transfer my number from SBC to Vonage. I submitted my LOA on 1/7 and my dashboard shows that it was received and submitted to the carrier on 1/7. Yesterday was day 20, so I went ahead and e-mailed dslreports@vonage.com this morning. I received a reply in a timely manner (< 2.5 hours) from a "LNP Escalations Coordinator" but it had some bad news...
| Quote: | I am contacting you in regards to your number transfer. I have reviewed your account and see that your order was not processed appropriately and I have contacted the carrier to obtain an update as to where the process currently is. As soon as the carrier responds to this request I will have an update to relay to you. | Uh oh, right? Any idea on what might have happened here? Should I expect another 20 day wait? Thanks, tdurkin |

I submitted mine on 1/6 (I also have SBC) and have called three times since day 20 and I can't get anything out of them except "there is some sort of problem. We'll let you know when we figure it out." No time tables, no explanation of what the problem is. Very frustrating. |

Thanks for the helpful response. That really helps to make the frustration associated with this so much better.

[vonage.com #1184401] Submitted to wrong carrier.
Now, on a more serious note, I just got a reply from Vonage. Any thoughs on what this means?
Thank you for your Letter of Authorization to transfer your existing phone number to VonageDigitalVoice service.
We are now working with your telephone carrier to complete the transfer process. Please note that your transfer may take at least 20 business days from the date above. Please keep in mind that Vonage will process your request as quickly as possible.
Please be on the lookout for our next e-mail notification that will state the scheduled processing date of your number transfer.
Sincerely,
LNP Department

Don't know. Just wondering if I screwed up or they did. I have gotten a response that said THEY messed up. My 20 cycle will start over and they have credited with a month of service. Fortunately, my expectations were set for this sort of thing. It's annoying, but I'm not giving up hope yet. |
