well you were just suggested one. and I bet if you searched this forum you would find several posts praising the SB5100.
like this one from sajer:
http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic345-0-asc-20.html
there's also these:
http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic2172.html
http://vonage-forum.com/ftopic2257.html
probably some more even.
as far as the other one, I searched the forum and found these posts:
http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic2696.html
http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic2197.html

so both seem fine. I would go with the cheaper one myself.

spepi,

Just wondering if the new Moto cable modem has solved the call dropout / disconnect issue. I'm having similar problems here in Michigan with Comcast HSI and Toshiba 1100 cable modem -- was the new modem worth the $$s?

Hopefully spepi will reply with his experience. But not including him I know of 3 folks who had problems with the Toshiba 1100 that were fixed by an upgrade to the SB 5100. If you don't hear from him, go ahead and make the purchase.

Absolutley fixed it.
Havent had 1 issue...Plunk the $$ down, or call in and lease the modem..which ever works for you.
Only issue I have now is my 2.4 ghz phones dont play nice with my LinkSys 2.4ghz Router

As a follow-up...replaced my Toshiba 1100U cable modem with Moto SB5100 -- call drop-out issue has disappeared. Based upon what I've read in the forums and experienced first hand -- Toshiba 1100 cable modem IS NOT compatible with Vonage.

Glad things worked out for you. I love the Vonage Service. Now if I could only get my Tivo to dial in.
