OK, sat on hold for 45 min or so. Tape ran out a few times, but I hung in there, knowing I was still in the que. Customer support was friendly, but unable to trouble shoot my problem at a technical level and will hopefully be able to have someone technical call me back tonight. I didnt get any type of case number, but he did experience the dropped calls with me, and could hear me. This happened a few times. By the end of the call, the line was very choppy.
Now I sit back and wait......no hold music here though.
I will keep you all updated

Toshiba Modem and comcast cable in MA.
Also spent another 45 min on hold and really got disconnected....the music really stopped playing this time...
Still dont know if phone is still acting up as I have made some mods to my router using Sveasoft's latest and greatest.
Some Qos changes, service changes and other things..nothing too crazy

What model of Toshiba modem do you have ? I have 2 friends in NH on comcast that were using the Toshiba PCX 1100, both were experiencing intermittent audio drop-outs during calls. They both upgraded to the Moto SB 5100 and have experienced no problems since.

It is the Toshiba PCX 1100, but what boggles me if it is the modem, it worked for 2 weeks with no issues....Wonder if there are any flash updates for my modem.
Im on hold now, actually got someone within 1 minute of calling, but transferred to Tech support...
Im gonna hang out on hold for a while.
I also just rebooted all devices in LAN.
Modem, unplugged for 3 min, Router unlugged for 4 min, PAP2 unplugged for 5 min.
Plugged back in modem, router, PAP2.
Wish I knoew if there was some type of issue with my phones.
Have one Uniden 900mhz cordless and 1 GE 5.8 GHZ cordless.
I dont think they are causing anything with router. Thats on a 2.4 ghz freq.
While on hold last night, I did test my Voip at www.testyourvoip.com
Here are those results. I actually had to add the SIP service as an allowed service to go out, so it wouldnt bounce back and use port 6000.

Yes, I can't say I understand it completely either. Both of my friends had good Voip service for some previous to their problems earlier. Both also got the Comcast speed upgrade during this period as well, and I am wondering if that somehow plays into. Anyways, don't puzzle too much over it -- the PCX 1100 is widely known for poor Voip performance, just search on threads in this forum if you want. Go to best buy and get the Motorola Surfboard 5100 -- $60 after rebate. Call comcast and give them the mac address of the new router, then install. I'm pretty confident this will solve your problems

I agree with you. I just got off the phone with Vonage Tech. Pretty knowledgeble guy. We ran Pingplotter as we were talking, and the packet loss was horrible. I lost him about 5 times previously before running ping plotter.
Well, off to Bestbuy or compusa. Any particular modems? I see Linksys has one. BEFCMU10 and then there is the Moto 5100.
Any one with experience with both would be grat to hear from.
