Greetings,
This may be a show stopper. I live in West Virginia, and have a prefix of 274... It is very important to me that I posess either a 304(274, 264, 263,262) or 301(739,733,582) or other number in that area in order for individuals and family to call me locally.
Vonage does not support the 304 area code. I punched in my number and it states that they are unable to transfer the number I currently have. Is this a technical, or political issue?
If I cant have a local number, there's no point in keeping this service. I've really grown to love it over the past 4 days..... I'd hate to have to cancel. |

Lingo seems to think they can transfer the number. Then again I did speak to a sales person...
Is this phone transfer thing just something that I can submit and pester the heck out of verizon or the fcc about and get it done? or does that mean that Vonage will not even attempt to obtain my number? |

Vonage does not currently offer any service in west virginia, meaning they will not be able to port your number at this time. click here and fill out the information on the right side of the screen (area code, email address) to have Vonage notify you when service is available.
you still might opt to sign up now, however, to save on long distance. (cut your land line down to a basic plan.) |
