Post subject: Microsoft wireless router question
Anyone using a MS wireless base station? I have one where I have 2 PCs connected to it and the other 2 running off the wireless. I can connected 2 more PCs to the router directly. Tomorrow I will get my Linksys RT31P2. Just want to know if anyone has a problem using it with a MS wireless base station? I plan on connected the Linksys to the MS rather than to the modem which is from RR.

If you have the Toshiba PCX1100U you MIGHT run into trouble. I have been with

since last May but in December my Motorola adapter broke so they sent me the RT3P2 and ever since then I had nothing but trouble - my cable modem would disconnect every 5-10 minutes and/or every time I would download large files. Long story short - after about two weeks of troubleshooting and losing my nerves I found out that the Toshiba modem and the RT3P2 don't mix very well (and that the modem overall is not very good for VOIP). So last night I finally hooked up my new DLink cable modem and since then everything is absolutely normal...

Then you should be fine as far as I know. Just make sure you plug your cable modem directly into the RT3P2 and then the Microsoft router into the Linksys set up just as an Access Point. Same config as I have.

I have the same setup. My RR motorola cable modem goes to the Linksys RT31P2. MS Wireless base station is plugged into the Linksys and is configured to be an access point only. Works just fine (with the exception of the excessive background noise on the phone lines, but a fix can be found on this forum.)
