After many trials and tribulation I found the solution. Buy a wireless ethernet bridge. Configure it while connected to the wireless network. Then connect the ethernet to the phone adapter as if the wireless bridge was the modem. You can then reconnect your computer to the phone adapter and sign on to the wireless network as you normally would.
