After much deliberation, I decided to cancel my Vonage service since there are 4 cellphones in the house and had no need for a house line. Cancelling was surprisingly easy, and I was able to do so in a matter of minutes on the phone. Unfortunately, since then, my Linksys wrtp54g no longer works. I don't know for SURE that my problems with connection happened immediately after cancelling, but it seems like it. We have a second router for the back of the house and that may have been providing internet during the times that this issue went unnoticed.
Anyway, does anyone know if Vonage somehow "locked" my router, keeping me from using it freely? It is MY router...not the one I received from Vonage, as that had to be replaced long ago. I reset the router, patched in with my laptop via Port 1 to reset the security settings, but I still cannot connect to the internet wired or wirelessly. I can connect to the router, the "Internet" LED does illuminate, as does "Wireless," but it does not allow internet traffic.
Thoughts? Do I need to ask Vonage to release the MAC address or something? Please advise. |

Very doubtful if Vonage somehow "locked" my router.
look in the router and check for any static address settings. Do the same for your PC's. Flush the DNS in your PC's and renew he IP's |
