I just signed up with Vonage. I am using Comcast cable with a 3MB download speed and a 256k upload speed. Will my slow upload speed be a problem with my Vonage service? Does anyone know what bandwidth Vonage uses for a single line? Thanks for anyone's help.

Most cable connections are like this. I have Adelphia and mine is 256k as well. I heard Comcast is upgrading all of theirs to 384k though.

In any case, to answer your question, 256k should be fine. The highest bandwidth setting is 90k but you can set it down if you need to. I have mine on 90k and it is working fine with my 256k upload.

Here in NH. Just got the Comcast upgrade on the 26th. The 256 upload I had previously was MORE than sufficient for Vonage. In fact I could/can do multiple tasks while on the phone w/o worry. Try the speed test dan gave you. This will give you a good indication of your bandwidth capabilities. It might also be advantageous to run a utility link pingplotter to see if you have any serious latency issues on your end.
