Hello,
I have searched this forum, and could not find an exact answer to my problem. I have been a Vonage subscriber for 2 weeks now, and most, not all people i call or have called me mention that they can hear an echo of themselves talking, but I sound fine to them as they sound to me. I have tried playing with the bandwidth saver to no avail. Any one else have or had this problem, and have any suggestions?

I find it a tad amusing that their "recommendations" to fix the problem is to tell the caller on the other end that it's their problem, not mine. Confused

Thanks for the links reebok, however i do not have the echo, the people i am taking to hear themselves in an echo, not me in an echo. I have yet to hear any echo. Most people i call or call me say they hear themselves however i sound fine to them. When they call my landline there is no echo. Any other suggestions?

yeah my bad, I thought one of those links talked about that.
I can't find a lot about this, though there is a lot of stuff about the Vonage user hearing an echo.
what are your detailed results at testyourvoip.com?

Reebok,
How do i get these results to you, i ran it twice, once from boston which detected a firewall that i dont have and switched to an alternate port and gave me a score of 3.2, the other was to helsinki which went right through and gave me a score of 4.2. Dont know how to post these so ill try cut and paste.

well those results don't look too bad...considering it's helsinki. boston would be better to look at but if it's not working then it's not working.
not sure what to tell you unless it's some type of volume problem. you're not using speakerphone are you? softphone?

no speakerphone, no soft phone. yes to a cordless phone, but i tried a landline and the same results were heard. Not everyone reports this to me, and they all say we sound fine as they do to me. Thanks for thinking for me, and your time.

well just for research and future reference sake, can you find out or do you know what telephone service the problem people have? is it the same? and/or are they all in the same area? do people not having the issue have a different phone company or live in a different area by chance?
